The Conservatoire Botanique National Méditerranéen has gathered several collections of Mediterranean fruit trees on the island. These « collector orchards” gathering old and rustic species of olive, mulberry, fig, peach and palm trees, constitute a precious scientific and cultural heritage as well as a gene reserve for the future.
